If you’re arranging for someone you love

A lot of the people who contact us aren’t the patient. They’re a daughter in Dubai, a son in Manila whose mother is in Iloilo, a family trying to decide together whether something is worth doing.

That’s a harder position than being the patient. You’re researching a field you didn’t choose to learn about, you’re comparing options you can’t fully evaluate, and you’re spending money that matters.

The first thing worth knowing

Nothing we offer replaces the treatment their doctor has prescribed. If you’re weighing us against their oncologist or nephrologist, that’s not the comparison. We work alongside that care, not instead of it.

If a clinic tells you otherwise, that’s the moment to walk away.

What to ask any clinic, including us

• Is the facility DOH-licensed, and for what
• Who is the physician, and what are their credentials and PRC number
• What exactly is being administered, and where is it sourced
• What does the full programme cost, including follow-ups
• What happens if there’s no response
• Will they write to the treating physician

If a clinic won’t answer any of these in writing, that tells you something.

What we can’t tell you over the phone

We can’t discuss whether something will help your relative without assessing them. Not because we’re being difficult, but because anyone who answers that question without seeing the patient is guessing, and guessing is how families lose money in this field.

What we can tell you: what a programme involves, what it costs, how long it takes, and what the assessment covers.

If you’re overseas

Common in our practice. What usually works:

• The patient attends the assessment in person. With their written consent, we can arrange a video call with you afterwards to go through the findings.
• We can send written findings and a cost breakdown before anything is committed to. Take time with it. Nothing here needs deciding on the call.
• Payment can be arranged from abroad. Ask us and we’ll explain the options.

On making the decision

You are allowed to say no. You’re allowed to take the findings to another doctor. You’re allowed to decide the money is better spent on something else, and we’d rather you did that than commit to something you’re unsure about.
